with nutrients from above

the rain pours down

and washes away

all the evidence

of yesterday

birds still sing

and deer still prance

despite the nights

cold and dark advance

the night passes by

and again the sun brings

light and life

to everything

so no matter your trials

or the hardships of your life

no matter whatever happens

to fill you with strife

life carries on

and a new carcass litters the ground

mushrooms grow

and the fae dance ’round

life is a cycle

what we take we eventually give back

so feed into the energy

and never look back

today is a new day
