A frog with no eyes…

A frog with no eyes can’t swallow

and a bird with clipped wings can’t fly.

A beta will exhaust itself fighting it’s reflection

and a bee is lost without its hive.

What we need to be ourselves varies.

Everyone requires different things in order to thrive

What might be detrimental to one will support another

We cannot be the same no matter how hard we try.

Humans are unique in their oneness

it gives the illusion that we are the same

then we take the next step to squash out difference

leaving most of our kind limping and lame.

Without biodiversity the ecosystem falters.

Disaster destroys all shelter and food.

Species cease to exist altogether

and the pond grows stale without being moved.

So, remember that you are different

and yet we are one and the same.

Different fractures of the same reflection

giving humankind it’s diverse name.

Stop trying to be the same.
