An educational adventure!
Tire Tales is a children’s book series created, written, and illustrated by E. Lexi Abbott. The book series centers around four main characters who are anthropomorphic tires that are attached to a motorhome traveling the country (USA). Each character has a central theme and certain lessons they can teach to their readers.
The books span from 1st – 3rd grade reading levels with lessons appropriate for the reading level such as how to share (1st grade) and what a geyser is and how it works (3rd grade). The books are an ever expansive series that are appropriate for the classroom or at home.
However, not every book is designed solely for education. “Origins” is a book that focuses on explaining the beginnings of Tire Tales and how the four friends, Speedy, Shelly, Amelia, and Whiz, found each other and came to be on the motorhome. Tire Tales is a book series that children are meant to take to heart and feel close with the characters.
The first book created centered around the theme of sharing, focusing on the character “Amelia” who, throughout the book, taught her friends what it was to share and how to do it properly when John and Mary, the owners of the motorhome, bought mudflaps during a particularly rainy week.

Meet the characters:
Amelia
Amelia is a cheerful character whose themes center around socialization and relationships between people. Her lessons include: how to share, how to make a friend, how to wash your hands, and more! Her signature identification is a big pink bow on the top of her head.
Speedy
Speedy is an energetic character that loves to go fast! He likes to say “Zoom!” as if he is speeding around wherever he goes. His themes include cars, travel, and fun exploration! His signature identification is a colorful propeller hat.
Shelly
Shelly is a plucky character that loves to smile! Her themes center around animals and the environment. Her lessons include: Geysers and how they work, pollution and how to be environmentally friendly, the life cycle of frogs, and more! Her signature identification are her freckles.
Whiz
Whiz is an intelligent character who lives up to his name. His themes include mathematics, history, and lessons such as how a bill becomes a law. His signature identification is a pair of square, green glasses.

Tire Tales: Learning About COVID-19
