It’s going to hurt

It’s going to hurt.

Anything that you find joyful or comforting.
Anything that makes you happy.

Eventually it will turn on you and bite. It’ll bite hard, and it’ll bite deep (and not in the kinky way my kinky friends…)

It’ll leave a gaping wound that will hurt every time the breeze comes to kiss it and you’ll hate the world, everyone in it and yourself.

But we are made to heal. We are made to survive. We are made to take our experiences and better ourselves through them.

We are the only animal out there that does not and can not learn from the mistakes of others but has to learn from mistakes ourselves.

because we are creatures of experience

we are creatures of experience in the way that we need to taste the sugar that the world is made of, that crumbles so easily at our touch but tastes so sweet all the while. We need to feel every emotion, every sensation that we can. No matter how it may burn or hurt, or how wonderfully amazing so that it makes you feel like you’re absolutely going to explode.

You’ll make mistakes. You’ll say the wrong thing at the wrong moment, expose too much too soon, push people away. But don’t worry because the people who are meant to stay in your life will stay. Just do your best to shut your mouth, give the situation space and wait for them to come back to you.

It’s GOING to hurt

but it’s going to be worth it in the end

because we learn from everything that happens to us and we grow and we bleed and we hurt and we learn and we grow and we feel amazing again and we fly.

It is going to hurt.

But don’t give up in the valley when it’s the view from the mountain top and the trip up to it that will make you feel alive…
