Perfect boy

He was handsome
He was smart
The way he could pick things apart

He was kind
He was sweet
The kind you want your parents to meet

He had gumption
He had pride
The way he could make you beam inside

He was perfection
He was joy
He was the perfect boy

He could make you swoon
Make you sigh
Make you give it up to him inside

Make you love
Make you blind
To how deep he was getting in your mind

Then without a second glance
He’d take away the chance
That you thought you’d had

He had taken what he wanted from you
You had been a simply toy.

And you had never seen his ploy
After all, he was the perfect boy.
