Let the rain kiss
Upon your cheek
While your eyes
Begin to leak
The corners of your mouth
Begin to pull
Upwards towards
That misty pool
Where feathered dinosaurs
Do caw and flap
Taking off from Earth
And not looking back
Where tall walls
Of cellulose
Do stretch with their years
And grow in close
Where dewy hands
Do begin to wave
Spread out, Palm down
Creating shade
Of which creatures may hide
Away from danger
From sharpened bone
In a wide open hanger
And while all this life
Is stirring around
You can’t help
But enjoy the sound
Of the forest alive
With primal thoughts
Where only the living
Have truly fought
For each and every breath
That they take
Close your eyes and breathe it in
Let your soul become awake
