To hear the tale of the Old
That in his last days of his utter maddening
He put away some kernels of truth for those
Who were kind enough to seek them out
Come here all ye curious
To hear the tale of the Old
To hear how he fought off his worst demons
And preserved what was left that was good
From inside his shriveled heart
Come here all ye wanting
To hear the tale of the Old
Those of you who could identify with
That lonely feeling that he felt inside
As he lay on his floor dying
Come here all ye students
To hear the tale of the Old
To learn what’s good that’s left in this world
To learn that it won’t always be so dark and wasted
As it is around us today
Come here all ye people
To hear the tale of the Old
who believe that we are not alone here on this Earth
and that we must fight to preserve our way of life
from those dark beings that did enrapture his mind
together we must rise and fight
together we must rebuild and rejoice
knowing that all that was bad was taken
so that we don’t need to deal with that
which the Old did
He dealt with that for us.
Come here all ye faithful
To pay respects to the Old
For keeping us from darkness
And reminding us that light does exist.
