Good Riddance

Looking back in time

You used to mean so much

But now that time has passed

I’ve found I do not miss your touch

I do not miss your smile

Or your smell

Or your walk

I do not miss the way you held me

Or the way you used to talk

I do not miss the way your mouth

Would twitch as you began to smile

I do not miss the way

You left me for a little while

Leaving me hurting

Leaving me alone

Shutting me out

From a place I called home.

From those arms

And that heart.

Shattering in my head

Our brand new start.

And now that the pieces

are on the ground

I find I quite like the way they look

Scattered all around

It gives dimension

It gives color

To an otherwise bland memory.

The broken pieces of

What my heart used to be

As my new heart is vibrant within my chest

And I’m sure you’re still the best

But I no longer miss you anymore

I’ve filled the hole you left before.

Good riddance.
