My Name Is Human

Hello my name is Human
I’m not perfect and I’m not sane
Hello my name is Human
I’ve never been known by any other name
Hello my name is Human
I’m a wretched wicked mess
Hello my name is Human
I was put on this Earth to go through a test
A test of strength and a test of will
A way to rise above the swill
A way to claw my dignity back
The dignity taken before I could attach
Myself to a meaning in this universe so dark
So dark except for the faintest of sparks
Those faintest of sparks giving light
You call them stars I call it night
Hello my name is Human
I’m not perfect I’m not sane
Hello my name is Human
I’ve been sent to this life to play a wicked game
If I make it to the end with my soul intact
Then I’ve passed the first phase of the test
And again I’ll be back
Over and over
until I win the game
I’m on this Earth forever
I’ll be known by many names
But the name that will last
and has lasted the years through it all
is Human the name of rise and the name of fall
Hello my name is Human
I’m not perfect and I’m not sane
Again and again through the ages
I play the same old game
until I’ve made myself again whole light
I’ll be forever reliving this long night
Hello my name is Human
as I’ve been known through it all
Hello my name is Human
I’m on the rise from the darkest fall.
