The Woods and The Hill

Dance-with-me.jpg

He lived in a mansion
on top of the hill
She lived in a treehouse
deep in Her mind where time stood still
He travelled the world
clear minded and alone
She longed for a partner
in the woods where She roamed
kind hearted and good natured
He was taken for granted
ignorant and optimistic
She’d never take advantage
were They really so different
or could They make a Home
inside of Each Other
wherever They’d roam?
He lived in a mansion on top of a hill
crumbling and torn but together still
She lived in a treehouse deep in the woods
only in Her heart and only if She could
His mind a clear sky
Her head made of cloud
His knowledge a map
Her ignorance a shroud
of fog over a river
in the early morning light
no anchor to hold Him
in the same spot all night
His want to stay isolated
a bright beaming light
He lived in a mansion on top of the hill
in His mind and His soul as well they are still
locked up in a tower away from the fright
that is love and connection and intimacy and light
but She was a powerful force
a strong personality indeed
She danced with the moon
spilled wine on Her sleeve
attempting to navigate a world so large
so much more mysterious than Her wood-borne heart
She reached out to Him while She was falling apart
not even trying to hide the stitches and marks
He lived in a mansion on top of the hill
She danced in the woods until time felt still
She felt too much and He felt it too real
in unison They danced between the woods and the hill.
