Power Words

people so want to move the world with their words
want their tongues to be silver and gold
want what they say to help stories unfold
yet they don’t seem to understand or know
that the world has an energy all its own
it moves without being asked
and creates without want
it helps life tick on by with or without a man-made clock
and when their words do not work it really sets people off
to ever have been able to conceive the thought
they are not the universe
they are along for the ride
so calm yourself and let your power hungry heart subside
let the rhythm go along the way it needs to inside
then dance to the beat and don’t bat an eye
people so want to move the world with their words
they are blind to what there is beyond the curve
so hold your breath as you come around the bend
you’ll be delighted to find that the world doesn’t end
just because you couldn’t see the rest of the road
