You don’t love her
stop lying with those words
they should mean more
than a way to make lines blurred

what would life be without her?
bored days and nights

rendering you alone to face the night

reminding you that you’re someone

leaving you to hunt another one

she’s just a way to pass the time
she’s a way to feel close to another
without putting yourself on the line
you think this is purity
when really it’s just common sense
why would you ever risk yourself
when you can just stay there on the fence
they say the grass is greener on the other side
but if you don’t pick one then the grass can’t die
if you don’t put your feet on the ground
then you wont dirty them with mud this round
but a knight in shining armor has never fought
and each new relationship a new armor got
old scars may have taught you things
but what it did was make you forget how to sing
she’s got a wild heart and she’s not meant to stay
in a pasture with no trees and no way
to leave because you won’t leave the fence
you call it pure
you call it innocence
you don’t love her

you might have loved another
but it seems you’re done for sure
she wants to give it a chance
but she’s burning in the sun
she needs her trees
she needs to run
she understands what you’ve been through
and at the end of the day
as long as you’re honest
it will be okay
you don’t have to stay up on that fence all day
she will come and check in
when she realizes she doesn’t have to stay
you’ll be there at the end of the road
you’ll be there for her
you’re not a toad
you’re a prince filled with new eyes
you say you love her
to you they’re not lies
