Freedom Minded

I’m cramped up in my life

but I’ve got space up in my head

space to roam around

and explore that which went to bed

fell asleep long ago

in the wake of human kind

human evolution making discovery fall behind

I’m cramped up in my life

always in circles running round

of course life is just circles

reflecting and spinning making sound

but in my head I can travel

to lands unknown or seen

lands that don’t exist

except to myself as a teen

this is why I write

and this is why I read

this is why young boys dream

of riding a valiant noble steed

wanting to be more than we are

is natural to say the least

that’s why writers write

to give readers quite a feast

I’m cramped up in my life

but I’m free within my mind

that’s what Stephen Hawking said

the smartest of our kind

imagination is a ticket

to that derailed crazy train

to truly find your freedom

is to be called totally insane

we all want to be free

it’s human nature to go towards

a land where we can dance

and where we can put down our old swords

but chaos is a virtue

and without it there’s nothing left

so keep plodding at your life

no, I surely jest

not about the chaos

about human kind as a whole

we need to live both in war and peace

it’s confusing as a mole

living it’s life blind

yet tunneling with precision

human kind just needs to use

a different kind of vision

we are freedom minded
