The Human Condition

Trina-Merry-Body-Painting-NYC-Human-Canvases-Nebula-TM

when you’re trapped

inside the human condition

you tend to make

feeling your mission

feeling the red hot

bursts of stars

feeling the cold

loneliness of Mars

feeling the electricity

inside of your veins

when you sing and dance

around the campfire flames

feeling the depth

that is your own soul

feeling lost and feeling whole

feeling rejection

and feeling like you belong

feeling the tears brimming

while singing a song

when you’re trapped

inside the human condition

you tend to make

feeling your mission

and once you’ve experienced

all there can be

you feel inside yourself

that you can finally see

and because seeing is believing

maybe you’ll finally understand me

and how I exist and have come to be

because I am not trapped

inside the human condition

instead I am free

and freedom is my mission

to wander around doing

whatever I feel in my soul

to experience things that

make me feel whole

I am not trapped

inside the human condition

instead I am free

to make freedom my mission

living as a speck

of the universe itself

canning old memories

to keep on the shelf

I’m glad I am me

and no one else

this is the human condition

to make whatever you want

your full life’s mission

and pursue it for the rest of your days
